Here we MF go. Well not exactly yet, about three weeks and counting until I embark on a fourteen month world tour in South America, Asia, and Europe. This is actually my second time doing something like this - I completed Remote Year, a twelve country, twelve month travel program just a few years back and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
So why do it again if that box was checked. Well, the pandemic provided a lot of clarity for me personally. Clarity that ‘settling down’ is not the life stage I’m in at this moment, clarity that I have more to work on internally as a person that would be greatly facilitated by traveling to new places and experiencing new things with a group of like minded people. Clarity that most of my personal growth has come when I had the least number of material possessions even though I could have afforded to buy whatever I wanted.
When you travel for a year like that, it takes a while for the experience to assimilate once you’re done. Now having had two years of ‘the normal life’, I know that I want to do a remote year again, that I want to improve on my role in a group dynamic, that I want to connect with people on a deeper level around meaningful experiences in places that have a visceral component to them. I want to see and feel culture and experience it on a deeper level and I feel that having completed a program previously, that this time I will be able to go deeper.
I want to learn to be better and flowing in the moment, accepting things as they are, but also leaving a positive impact on people I encounter. So for this world tour I would like to start out with some goals, or better stated strong intentions. They way these intentions manifest may be a little different in each place but the energy behind them will be coming from the same place.
